The 4th largest wine exporter in the world, Australia produces wine in every state. However, its wine regions are mainly located in the southern, cooler parts of the country. Being such a large country with most every climate and soil type, Australia is one of the few wine producers to make every one of the major wine styles. Major varieties are Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot, Semillon, Pinot Noir, Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc.
